Darjeeling – Gangtok

Darjeeling - Gangtok


Day 1

Darjeeling Check-in

On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (70.3 km) / Bagdogra Airport (65.3 km) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (61.9 km), meet our Spirit Bohemian representative or hotel transfer who assists you while you take a transfer to Darjeeling.On reaching, check-in to the hotel. Step out to explore the Mall or shopping area of Darjeeling in the evening. Later, come back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2


3-Point Tour, Chowrasta Mall, Mahakal Temple, Toy Train

In morning after breakfast move towards the interesting spots i.e. 3-Point Tour to watch sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga from Tiger Hill, followed by visit to Ghoom Monastery and famous Batasia Loop. Don't miss out on the Samosas (singaras) sold by the locals at Batasia. Come back and take your breakfast in the hotel. Later visit the Chowrasta Mall. Sit on a bench and Relax here for a while, and then complete a round along Mall Road. Walk up the Observatory Hill to Mahakal Temple from the Mall road and soak in the views and wonderful ambience. In the afternoon, go for the 2-hour Toy Train Joy Ride. In the evening, take a stroll along Nehru Road through many shops and Bhutia stalls... do some shopping. Try to take your dinner at the famous Glenary's Restaurant.

Day 3


Happy Valley Tea Estate, HMI & Zoo,Tenzing Rock,Ropeway, Rock Garden

After enjoying a traditional Darjeeling breakfast,or famous full English breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Darjeeling- go for either 7-point or mix point tour. The main attractions to cover are Happy Valley Tea Estate, HMI & Zoo, Tibetan Self Help Refugee Center, Tenzing Rock, Ropeway (cable car), and Rock Garden etc.In the night return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4


MG Marg, Lal Bazaar

After breakfast prepare yourself for another ultimate place of your tour i.e. Gangtok. It takes about 4 hours to reach Gangtok.Check into the hotel, freshen up and walk down to MG Marg, the hub of Gangtok. Smoke & vehicle free boulevard square with shops and restaurants lined up on both sides. A great place to sit on a bench and feel the carnival like ambience.There are plenty of options for lunch, so Walk down to a restaurant, take a relaxed lunch. Post lunch, do some shopping.Also walk down to nearby Lal Bazaar for more shops. Remaining day at leisure.Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 5


10-point sightseeing tour

On the 5th day of the tour post breakfast,Get ready for a full day of sightseeing.Go for a full day 10-point sightseeing tour.This full day tour covers several attractions outside Gangtok but within about 25kms radius.

Ranka or Lingdum Monastery: About 45 minutes drive from Gangtok, set up on a hill and one of the most wonderful monasteries in east Sikkim.

Ban Jhakri Waterfall: A great waterfall in a landscaped forest garden. The place is an excellent picnic spot for families.

Rumtek Monastery: The most famous monastery with grand Tibetan architecture. It was designed after the original one in Tibet. An additional attraction here is the Golden Stupa.

Nehru Botanical Garden: This is near Rumtek. There is a concrete pathway to take a stroll through the garden with many subtropical trees & plantations. There is a large nursery here for growing Orchids of many types. It also has a children's playground, swings etc. Overall a nice picnic spot. But for the purpose of this tour, you should not spend much time here as time will otherwise run out for the other sights.

Shanti View Point: A viewing area near Rumtek. Spend a few minutes to watch the great views of GangtokTownship at the opposite mountain.

Enchey Monastery: An old renowned monastery founded in 1800s.

Ganesh Tok: The Ganesh temple about 6kms away from Gangtok with a nice viewing area.

Ropeway: Great 1km cable car ride across three stations from Deorali to Tashiling

Institute of Tibetology: Renowned institute on Tibetan Language & culture also has a great museum and library.

Tashi View Point: Excellent sunrise and Kanchenjunga viewing area.

Day 6


Himalayan Zoo

On the 6th day of the tour visit some unseen attractions like the Himalayan Zoo - you will see many rare and endangered species of Himalayan animals like Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, and lot more that are kept in natural habitats. It's a large zoological park in forested area. Then move towards to Tsomgo Lake - a glacial lake at an altitude of 12,400ft and followed by visit to the much fabled Baba Mandir.Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7


This is the day to check out and transfer back to NJP/Bagdogra. So enjoy a wholesome breakfast then prepare for a fond farewell as you transfer to the airport and fly back, carrying memories of trip that will live with you for a lifetime.
