  • Our way of celebration

Indians have many festivals, and the way we celebrate each is unique in its own way. We fly kites on Independence day, light our houses on Diwali, spread colour and joy in Holi, we celebrate everything, we celebrate the joy of living. We just need a chance to dance and days where we can celebrate. Different people celebrate different festivals as per their religion, caste and culture. People celebrate National festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day as well as religion festivals like Diwali, Holi, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, Christmas, New Year and many more.


  • The gestures we use as a part of our culture

We have rich cultural values, and we’ve always maintained them. Touching feet of our elders is one such gesture. Through this, youngers show great respect to their elders. They touch the feet of their elders daily after waking up and especially on the festive occasions or before starting an important work. The gesture of joining hands while saying ‘namaste’ means Hello” and has been used for ages as a sign of greeting.

India is full of talents in the field of art or architecture. Indian Art includes paintings, rangoli, plastic arts like pottery, and textile arts like woven silk, etc. Examples include paintings of Ajanta cave, Paintings of Ellora cave,  Rock-cut temples of Mahabalipuram, temples of Thanjavur, Kanchipuram and many more. It seems that wherever you turn in India you will come across a site of historic, natural or cultural importance. India is rich in heritage, and some of the main UNESCO world heritage sites in India are Taj Mahal, The great Himalayan National Park, Agra Fort, The Elephanta Caves and the Western Ghats.

India is a land of diverse dance forms. The main Indian dances are Folk Dance and Classical Dance. The most popular Classical dance forms are Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Kathak, Manipuri, etc. Folk dances are mainly performed in any occasion like birth of a child, festivals, harvesting seasons, wedding events, etc. Singing is common during festivities and celebrations. There are different forms of music, such as, ghazals, shayari, folk music and many more. Indian movies include Bollywood, Tollywood and other regional movies and documentaries based on India. Indian Film Industry is largely known as Bollywood.  In fact, the Bollywood film industry is the largest film industry in the entire world. Even our movies are filled with songs and dances, infact in Bollywood, the entire mob dances for no reason at all! ( It is still very fun to watch) Our theatre portrays powerful depictions of art along with the medium of dance and music with very strong storylines.
